Itinerary
Day 1
12:00 - 1:00 PM: Arrival
1:00 - 2:00 PM: Check-in to hotel and rest
2:00 - 3:00 PM: Haneedh Lunch
3:00 - 5:00 PM: Visit Al Gariya museum and walk around Tamniya village. Visit Al Yanfaa Village and see old architecture of mud homes and ragaf stone layers. Local snacks such as bread and tea (only if time permits)
5:00 - 6:30 PM: Visit cave with the most interesting rock art of ancient Arab goddess Al Alyaa
6:30 - 8:30 PM: Visit Fatma Gallery for Asiri women’s Arts & Crafts, introduction to Al Qatt art
8:30 - 9:30 PM: Light Dinner
9:30 - 10:00 PM: Head back to the Hotel
Day 2
8:30 AM: Breakfast in hotel
9:30 - 11:30 AM: Drive toward Al Souda peak at approx. 3000 meters. Visit Abu Sarrah palace and enjoy fascinating views
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Visit strawberry farm and enjoy the view from a cliff
1:00 - 3:00 PM: Drive towards a local family home in Al Souda mountain and enjoy a home cooked meal
3:00 - 4:00 PM: Head to Al Souda cable car station & take a scenic ride down the mountain to the Valley of Rejal Almaa (only during season otherwise descend mountain by cars)
4:00 - 5:00 PM: Visit Rejal Village & walk through old stone homes some restored and some in ruins. Learn and see Al Qatt Art forms, old tools & old shower rooms
5:00 - 6:00 PM: Meet Hudaisih the shepherd and listen to him play his flute. A workshop to take place in learning how to play the flute.
6:00 - 7:00 PM: Head back to Abha
7:00 - 8:00 PM: Head to Hotel for a break
8:00 - 9:30 PM: Dinner with locals (Tamashee friends)
9:30 - 10:00 PM: Drive back to the hotel
Day 3
7:30 AM: Meeting in breakfast hall
8:30 AM: Head to Jahama village in Bilad Qahtan
9:15 - 9:30 AM: Stop for a quick stretch and some tea
10:00 AM - 12:30 PM: See old mud homes with the oldest forms of Al Qatt Art. Walk in the abandoned village & see interesting Acacia trees & thorny Talh Trees
12:30 - 2:00 PM: Head to a traditional restaurant to enjoy lunch
2:30 - 5:00 PM: Meet the flower men (men from Tehama lower altitudes who wear flower crowns & sarongs) watch them perform a Gazwai dance & learn about their culture
5:00 - 6:00 PM: Head back to Abha
6:00 - 8:30 PM: Abha’s Tuesday Market (Souq Al Thulatha) and walk around Al Meftaha art district of Abha, meet local artists (or similar)
8:30 - 10:00 PM: Dinner with a view in the green mountain
10:00 PM: Head to hotel
Day 4
9:00 - 9:15 AM: Check-out and meet in lobby
9:15 - 11:00 AM: Traditional Breakfast at old Abha police station converted into restaurant. Walk around old village
11:00 AM: Head to airport
