  1. Introduction

Welcome to 1833.club. By becoming a member, you confirm that you have read and that you accept the following terms and conditions and agree to abide by them.

The purpose of this club is to 1833 is a dynamic and vibrant creative ecosystem designed to foster connection, learning, collaboration, and community-building. The club serves as a platform for professionals from diverse industries with the creative industry at the core to engage in cultural exchanges, support each other’s growth, and promote creative expression and innovation. With a focus on both online and offline experiences, 1833 creates opportunities for its members to connect, network, and learn through events, workshops, and exclusive content.

  1. Membership Eligibility

Membership criteria: Membership is open to individuals who are passionate about creativity, collaboration, and innovation. The club welcomes professionals from all industries. members are expected to demonstrate a commitment to fostering community, sharing knowledge, and supporting the growth of others.

Application Process:

  • Complete an Online Application: Prospective members fill out an application form detailing their professional background, interests, and reasons for wanting to join the club.
  • Committee Review: Each application is reviewed by the 1833 membership committee to ensure alignment with the club's values and goals.
  • Approval and Payment: Once approved, members will be notified and must pay the membership fee. Memberships are subject to annual renewal.

Notwithstanding the above, 1833.club reserves the right to accept or reject membership applications at its sole discretion.

  1. Membership Fees and Payment Terms
  • [Upon approval of your membership application,] you agree to pay an annual membership fee is AED 9,588, payable in monthly instalments of AED 799.
  • Membership is based on an annual commitment by the members. Accordingly, you agree as a member to a full twelve (12) month subscription term. Payments will be automatically charged to the member’s provided payment method on a monthly basis as set out in the following paragraphs of this section 3.
  • All fees are payable by the 1st of each month via Stripe. Payments of the membership fee instalments shall be processed through secure payment gateways that comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Members will receive a payment confirmation for each transaction.
  • Failure to pay the membership fee within 30 days of the due date may result in suspension or termination of your membership.
  • [1833.club reserves the right to adjust fees periodically. Members will be notified of any fee changes 30 days in advance through members@1833.club , www.1833.club .
  • No refunds will be issued for fees already paid in the event of termination, suspension, or voluntary resignation.
  • Member Obligations
  • As member of 1833.club, you undertake to uphold 1833.club’s fundamental values of respect, tolerance, courtesy and professionalism. Without in any way limiting the aforementioned, all members are expected to:
  • act in a way that reflects the dignity and integrity of 1833.club;
  • behave in a responsible and courteous manner when attending and participating in any and all events, meetings and initiatives of 1833.club;
  • comply with 1833.club's rules and regulations, as amended from time to time; and
  • respect the privacy and safety of other members, guests and any third parties present at any events, meetings and initiatives of 1833.club.
  • Code of Conduct: Any behaviour deemed harmful, inappropriate or in violation of these terms and conditions, may result in the immediate suspension or termination of membership without a refund, without prejudice to any other rights and other measures or remedies that may be available to us/1833.club or that we may be required to take under law.  

 

  • Compliance with Rules: Members must respect and comply with 1833.club rules and applicable laws at all times. 1833.club reserves the right to change its rules from time to time and will endeavour to notify the members reasonably in advance of any such changes.
  • Guest Policy
  • Bringing Guests: Members may bring guests to certain events, subject to availability and additional guest fees. Guest tickets must be purchased through the member’s account.
  • Guest Details: Conditions and details relating to the possibility of bringing guests, guest fees and limitations on the number of guests are on an event by event basis and shall be included in the details of each such event when communicated to the members.
  • Member Responsibility: The member shall remain responsible at all times for ensuring that their guests comply with 1833.club’s rules and code of conduct. Any misconduct by a guest may result in the suspension or termination of the member’s membership and/or privileges.
  • ⁠Data Privacy and Security
  • In collecting and processing members' personal information, 1833.club complies with UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) to ensure that such data is collected, processed, and stored securely.
  • The information you provide during membership registration will be used solely for membership management and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except:
  • where required by law; and/or
  • when shared with service providers like payment processors, in respect of which your consent to 1833.club is deemed granted by accepting these terms and conditions.
  • You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data at any reasonable time by contacting our support team.
  • We may send marketing or event notifications to members via email. Members may opt-out of such communications at any time by [contacting us/unsubscribing via the link in emails].
  • ⁠Membership Privileges and Access
  • As member, you will be granted access by 1833.club to most events, programming, and exclusive content provided by 1833.club during the subscription period, subject always to the following categories of membership:
  • Premium Events: Select premium events or experiences may require an additional fe]e for entry. These events will be clearly communicated to members in advance.
  • Loyalty Program: Members who attend a certain number of events or maintain their membership for more than a year may be eligible for exclusive rewards, discounts, or special event access, which will be determined and offered by 1833.club from time to time at its discretion.
  • Add-Ons and Premium Experiences Some high-cost or exclusive events may require an additional fee. These fees will be determined by 1833.club at its discretion and communicated to the members reasonably ahead of an event. Tickets for such events can be purchased through your membership account.
  • Termination, Suspension and Refund Policy
  • Membership may be terminated by either the member or 1833.club in accordance with the following terms:
  • Termination by the member:

Members may not terminate their membership during the initial 12-month commitment period.

Thereafter, a member may terminate their membership at any time by providing a 30-day written notice to 1833.club via members@1833.club , provided always that no refunds of fees will be made.

Early termination during the 12-month commitment will result in a penalty equivalent to the remaining unpaid monthly fees for the commitment period.

  • Termination by 1833.club: Membership may be terminated or suspended by 1833.club at its discretion for non-payment of fees, breach of these terms, misconduct, or any behaviour that is detrimental to 1833.club or its other members.
  • Refund Policy: Fees paid in advance for the current membership term are non-refundable unless otherwise specified under exceptional circumstances determined at the discretion of 1833.club.
  • Renewal At the end of the initial 12-month period, memberships will be automatically renewed for another year, unless cancelled by the member. Members will be notified of the renewal 30 days in advance, and changes in membership terms or fees will also be communicated.
  • ⁠Changes to these Terms
  • 1833.club reserves the right to amend and modify these terms and conditions, including but not limited to the membership benefits and fees at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes at least 30 days in advance via members@1833.club , www.1833.club . By continuing your membership after the changes, you agree to the updated terms.

 

  • Liability and indemnity
  • 1833.club shall not be held liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property occurring during any 1833.club events, wherever held or while using 1833.club's platform. Members are encouraged to take care of their personal belongings and well-being during all 1833.club events.
  • By agreeing to these terms, you indemnify and hold harmless 1833.club, its directors, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your participation in any 1833.club events or activities, wherever held, or while using 1833.club's platform.
  • Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

  • Dispute resolution and Jurisdiction

In the event of any disputes arising from or in relation to these terms and conditions shall be first, 1833.club and the member shall first seek to resolve it through amicable discussions between the member and 1833.club's management. Both parties shall act reasonably and in good faith in seeking to reach an amicable resolution to such dispute.  

If the dispute remains unresolved following such discussions, either party may refer the matter to mediation by the UAE Consumer Protection Department or such other relevant authorities in the UAE that may have competence to mediate such dispute.

In the event of failure to reach a resolution via mediation, either party may refer the dispute to the Dubai courts.
