The core of my ambition lies in being a transformative leader. I aspire to be a leader who not only inspires but also unlocks the dormant potential in others. I want to help my team members become the best versions of themselves, fostering an environment of growth, creativity, and opportunity. My goal is to uplift individuals who may not have had the same privileges and opportunities as I had. My aspirations, however, extend beyond the kitchen. I envision opening a restaurant in Dubai that serves as a cultural bridge between Central America and the Middle East. This venture will not only celebrate the rich flavors of my homeland but also provide a platform for underprivileged girls to pursue their culinary dreams. I strongly believe that it is a strong community what will allow me to achieve my goals.
Why would you want to join 1833/١٨٣٣?
Having called the UAE my home for the past 15 years, I remain unapologetically in pursuit of my "Dubai dream." It was this dream that motivated me to move across the world with just USD 200 to start a new life filled with travel, independence, and the opportunity to pursue my interests. Since then, I have planted my roots in the UAE, transforming my culinary passion into a culinary reality. Today, the change I am most passionate about addressing revolves around leadership, empowerment, and opportunity within my community and the wider world. Through my journey, I've learned that with hard work and determination, achieving one's dreams is possible, no matter the time it takes. I wish to use my story, my voice to inspire others, especially those who may feel their dreams are out of reach. My goal is to uplift individuals who may not have had the same privileges and opportunities as I had. It is not about what can I get, but instead how can I awaken the dormant potential in others.
What are your creative interests? How do you spend your free time?
Food has always been an influential part of my life. From growing up in Nicaragua watching my grandmother cook and inspiring to follow in her footsteps to cooking for others. It is my love, passion, and an expression of my authentic self. In the last six years, I have delved deep into the art of reimagining traditional Central American recipes and fused them with a modern international touch inspired by my globe-trotting adventures during my time at Emirates. My creations are evidence of how deeply I immersed myself in every place I visited, with a soft spot for street food culture from around the world.
When I am not in the kitchen, you can find me practicing boxing, dancing flamenco, hiking with my husband and dog or supporting others in our community to achieve their goals.
