What is your current career stage and what can help you unlock your next level?
I'm currently in an exciting phase where I'm doing a lot of experimentation while simultaneously fulfilling the dream of operating a museum & workshop space. I’ve been able to combine my passion for history with modern skills in digital project management, and I’m now focused on breaking into the London art scene and showcasing Khaleeji culture on a global stage. What I hope will help me unlock the next level is gaining access to a network of creatives and cultural leaders who can help me elevate my work, as well as opportunities to collaborate on projects that highlight the rich heritage of the Arabian Gulf.
Why would you want to join 1833/١٨٣٣?
I want to join 1833 because it's a rare opportunity when creativity, entrepreneurship, and future-driven thinking combine together. With experiences that intermingle both the creative pursuit and start-up ventures, I see the club as an ideal ground to expand my network with others striving to bring breakthroughs in their respective industries.
With my start-up experience, I bring a practical understanding of how to turn ideas into actionable projects. This membership will give me a chance to have meaningful one-on-one conversations on the very idea of creative thinking in shaping our future business outlook while learning from others. I would be excited to exchange insights in not only cultural heritage but also the latest technologies, sustainable practices, and ways to scale creative ideas into impactful ventures.
What I could give to the community is a mix of creativity and strategic thinking, developed through my past work in creative environments and entrepreneurial settings. I thrive in environments where the status quo is constantly challenged and new ways of thinking are presented, and I believe that 1833 could be the perfect space for that.
What are your creative interests? How do you spend your free time?
I have a deep passion for exploring lesser-known aspects of Khaleeji history, particularly the fascinating stories of the Jews of the Arabian Gulf and the pioneering Saudi women who played key roles in the women's education movement. My interests extend beyond history into hands-on creative endeavors. I find immense joy in embroidery, sewing, metal jewelry making, coding, crochet, knitting, and especially traditional Sadu weaving, which connects me to my cultural roots.
I also have a strong sense of nostalgia, which is reflected in my everyday life—I carry a flip phone and a digital camera, amassed a large digital archive of Japanese fashion magazines from the mid-90s to early 2010s, and currently dabbling in collecting cassette tapes. I also heavily prefer exhibit hopping over cafe hopping.
