Abeer Abu Shmeis is the founder of Originative Capital, an advisory and consulting firm that mobilizes concepts, strategies, and capital for the Cultural, Creative, and Tourism Industries (CCTI) between the Middle East and Africa. For over 15 years, she has led strategy, research, and project execution across the private and public sectors, spanning national strategies and plans, entrepreneurship promotion, investment management, cultural diplomacy, and sector measurement.

She is a practitioner and scholar with an MBA from the University of California, Irvine (Fulbright Scholar) and an MA in Global African Studies, focused on Museum and Critical Heritage, from The Africa Institute in Sharjah. Abeer frames CCTI not only as an investment category, but also as a field with cultural, economic, and historical stakes.
