September’s I READ session is an in-person deep dive into the pages of The First House with the Booker-nominated author herself, Avni Doshi. The sophomore novel exposes the darkest corners of the domestic through the complex family dynamics that arise with the sudden end of a 13-year marriage. A mother of two is left sifting through the remains of her relationship to raise two children while she figures out her true identity outside of wifedom.
