The Matter of Light, curated by Eugenia Kikodze, brings together artists from Eastern Europe and the Arab world to explore light as both a physical phenomenon and a metaphysical concept, tracing its role in shaping artistic expression from modernism to contemporary art. Unveiled, Kirill Makarov’s solo exhibition, presents a body of sensuous post-digital paintings that explore how images are produced, circulated, and distorted within contemporary political and economic realities, and how these processes shape our visual reality and transform the way we perceive and understand images. Deeply conceptual and philosophical, the exhibition reflects on the changing nature of images in our time.
