Cairo does not ease you in. It pulls you under and that is exactly the point.

Six days inside one of the world's oldest living cities. We move through the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids of Giza, through the layered streets of Islamic Cairo and the sensory overload of Khan El Khalili. We eat at Khufu's number one on the MENA 50 Best list and lunch at Zooba inside the museum itself. We take to the Nile. We end a night at Studio Samra.

In between, Cairo Design Week opens doors to private collectors' homes and creative practices that most visitors never find.

History is not behind glass here. It is in the streets, the food, the noise, the light.
