Before venturing into the hospitality sector, Hashem spent 15 years in the banking industry, where he established a successful asset management business in the Middle East. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Frontlane Capital, a Dubai-based investment management firm focused on early-stage investing.

As a patron of the art and collector, Hashem's influence extends beyond the culinary world. He actively participates in cultural endeavors, serving on the MENA Acquisitions Committee of Centre Pompidou in Paris, France, the Tate in London, UK, and the Advisory Board of NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery.‍
